Fourteen sectors, each with different demands

A hospital cannot take a bank of elevators out of service the way an office tower can. An airport moving walk runs nearly continuously.

The sector is where the question starts, not where it is answered. Two hospitals on the same street can differ in every constraint that matters — bank layout, machine room access, and what the building can be without while the work runs.

What changes by sector
Shutdown windowsWhen a bank can be taken out of service, and for how long, is what the work is sequenced around.
Traffic patternsCar count and speed follow from an analysis of the building’s own population — not from a table.
Duty cycleWe specify against the duty the building will actually run, rather than the one the catalogue assumes.
Code obligationsEstablished on the equipment, in the machine room and the hoistway, before a specification is written.
Machine mixTraction, hydraulic, escalator, and moving walk are assessed on different parts; the mix changes by building.

Every sector places different demands on vertical transportation. We account for how the building actually operates — its traffic patterns, its shutdown windows, its code obligations — before recommending anything.
